A tidier Mac,
one keystroke at a time.
Trashcan lives in your menu bar and quietly clears what you never look at again: app caches, stale downloads, duplicate screenshots. You pick the rules, it does the sweeping.

Rules, not guesses
Every rule is explicit: “Downloads older than 30 days”, “Screenshots larger than 5 MB”, “Xcode DerivedData”. Nothing is deleted that you didn't describe.
Preview first
Before a sweep, Trashcan shows exactly which files match and how much space you'll get back. One click to confirm, one to skip.
Undo for a week
Swept files sit in a holding area for seven days. Changed your mind? Restore with the original path intact.

FAQ
Does Trashcan send my file names anywhere?
No. Rules run locally. The app has no analytics and phones home only to check for updates, and you can turn that off.
Can it empty the system Trash automatically?
Yes, on a schedule you choose, or only when free space drops below a threshold.
What about external drives?
External and network volumes are excluded by default. You can opt individual volumes in.
